A hospital employee in Florida has been taken into custody after allegedly pilfering a 94-year-old patient’s wallet and going on a spending spree with the stolen credit cards.
Authorities report that Bailey Slater, 28, who worked as a patient care technician at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, allegedly took the elderly patient’s wallet on January 22. She supposedly used the credit cards on the same day, accumulating over $500 in charges, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators released a surveillance image purportedly showing Slater, who was masked, pushing a shopping cart brimming with bags out of a Target store.
After hospital officials detected the suspected theft, they promptly informed law enforcement and collaborated with detectives to fortify the case, the sheriff’s office noted.

Bailey Slater, 28, is now facing several charges, including first-degree petit theft, two counts of unauthorized credit card use, and two counts of fraudulent use of an elderly person’s personal information.
A warrant was issued for Slater’s arrest, and she turned herself in at the Orient Road Jail on Friday.
