A Florida sheriff says he was ‘glad’ to arrest a white woman who shot dead her black neighbor in a dispute over her kids after viewing damning security footage and spotting several ‘b******t’ claims in her interview.
Susan Lorincz, 58, is accused of shooting mother-of-four Ajike ‘AJ ‘ Owens, 35, dead in front of Owens’ 10-year-old son after a bitter two-year dispute between the pair came to a tragic end on June 2.
Lorincz was charged with manslaughter with a firearm, culpable negligence, battery, and two counts of assault and is set to appear in front of a judge at Marion County Courthouse for the first time this morning following a medical examination.
Authorities arrested her four days after the fatal confrontation in Ocala, Florida, in which Lorincz admitted to firing through her front door and fatally striking Owens who came knocking following an incident with her kids.
Lorincz’s claims she ‘feared for her life’ were dismissed as ‘BS’ by Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods on Thursday who said footage captured on security cameras at neighboring properties ‘were the final nail.’

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said Lorincz’s version of events was ‘BS’ as accounts from Owens’ children matched surveillance footage from a neighbor’s home
Woods said accounts from Owens’ children was backed up by the surveillance footage seen by cops.
‘There are things that people say that we’re able to prove is a yellow flag – a b******t flag – and say no that is wrong,’ he told WFTV.
‘She couldn’t see through the door, she couldn’t see the individual. So her comments that she was in fear of her life… raises the hair on the back of our neck.’
The affidavit shows there were two surveillance cameras inside Lorincz’s home, with one facing the patio and the other attached to the sliding door.
Lorincz, an insurance agent, claimed that the cameras were functional but only record motion and ‘at night sometimes do not capture anything.’
The cameras are accessible through her phone, and after initially declining to give the passcode, Lorincz handed over the phone.
Officers could not see any recording after 8.40pm the night of the incident, but Lorincz denied deleting any recordings.
Lorincz was left in possession of her phone for two hours after being placed inside of a police car – and footage shows her accessing it briefly.
However, it is unclear what she did on the phone from the view of the camera, and it was subsequently taken into evidence.
Lorincz told cops that Owens’ children had been ‘trespassing’ on her property, with neighbors revealing that she ‘had a problem with kids’ and would record them before taunting them with slurs as well as waving her guns around in their direction.

Owens went over to Lorincz’ home to confront her over allegations she threw a rollerblade at one of her children earlier in the day and smashed a tablet, before swinging an umbrella
Phyllis Wills, 33, told NBC that Lorincz would ‘harass’ her kids, adding: ‘Everybody in this neighborhood has feuded with this lady over our children.’
Other parents said they called her a ‘Karen’ after she repeatedly filmed their children and called the police about their antics.
‘It’s an apartment complex. These are children who, you know, they’re, they’re going to do things,’ Willis said.

‘Every time they’ve went even in the patch of grass over there, she would be like, ‘Get off of my lawn, you b****** or you retards or you N-word.’ She would wave guns at them.’
When interviewed by police, one of Owens’ sons claimed that Lorincz had previously called them ‘B******’ and ‘jack****s’ as well as saying: ‘This isn’t the underground railroad, slave.’

An arrest affidavit revealed that Lorincz had called 911 at 8.54pm on June 2 to complain that the children were trespassing, telling officers that they were shouting outside her door.
Minutes later, officers then received several other emergency calls advising shots heard in the area, with Lorincz calling again to say that a ‘female tried to break down her door while yelling’ and she shot her.

Owens reportedly told her son, 12, to call 911 after being hit by the bullet, with the young boy telling officers she ‘was only knocking on the door’. She was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Lorincz said that she fired the Remington 380 gun and admitted to owning a 22 Ruger – claiming she only purchased the gun ‘for protection after an altercation’ with Owens.
She told cops that she felt like she was in ‘mortal danger’ and was ‘fearful for her life’, before claiming she ‘never intended to hit the victim’ and she ‘hit really high’.
Authorities had come under pressure to arrest and charge Lorincz in a case that has put Florida’s divisive stand-your-ground law back into the spotlight – with Sheriff Woods describing it as ‘simply a killing.’
Lawyers for Owens’ family are now calling for the charges to be increased to murder, as well as an additional case for ‘racially abusing’ the children.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump said: ‘There’s evidence there to increase the charges. Especially when you think about what happened, with her harassing the children with racial epithets and profanity.’

A GoFundMe page has since been set up for Owens’ family – helping to support funeral and memorial costs, the children’s education, and housing and living expenses for the family.
So far close to $149,000 has been raised to support the bereaved family with a target of $500,000.
Tributes have also been left near to the area where Owens was shot, with protestors also demonstrating outside the courthouse and police station.
During a vigil with the family later Monday, Owens’ mother, Pamela Dias, said that she was seeking justice for her daughter and her grandchildren.
‘My daughter, my grandchildren’s mother, was shot and killed with her 9-year-old son standing next to her,’ Dias said. ‘She had no weapon. She posed no imminent threat to anyone.’
