() Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, companies nationwide are changing company social media policies and firing or placing employees on leave over posts about Kirk.

Several employers, including the Carolina Panthers, MSNBC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), have carried out some kind of disciplinary action against staff members and have publicly remarked on Kirk’s death.

A website has also been launched by Kirk supporters, calling for submissions of anyone who has made negative posts about his death with commentators’ names, job titles, place of employment or other identifying information from social media websites. The owners of the site write that they will permanently archive the posts and create a search feature.

Here are some employers who have implemented new policies:

Delta Airlines

In a companywide memo obtained by , Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian said employees who made social media posts about Kirk’s murder were suspended, saying the posts “went well beyond healthy, respectful debate,” and were in “stark contrast of our values and our social media policy.”

“It’s essential that we act in ways that uphold our shared values and the human connection that defines us,” Bastian continued.

An investigation is underway as the employees are under suspension. has reached out to Delta Airlines for comment.

Office Depot

In a post on social platform X, Office Depot wrote that it had fired an employee at one of its Michigan stores after an employee there reportedly refused to print flyers for a vigil that would honor Kirk. The employee called the flyers “propaganda.”

“The behavior displayed by our associate is completely unacceptable and insensitive, violates our company policies and does not reflect the values we uphold at Office Depot,” the company wrote.

The Joe Burrow Foundation

The Joe Burrow Foundation started by Cincinnati Bengals player Joe Burrow also announced it had let go of an advisory board member who they said made “inappropriate remarks in light of recent events,” and wrote that they are “committed to accountability and respect for all.”
