A former Miss California, Carrie Prejean Boller, is voicing her discontent with Donald Trump, accusing him of turning his back on his staunchest supporters. This follows her dismissal from a White House religious role, a consequence of her contentious remarks concerning Israel.

Prejean Boller was relieved of her duties at the Justice Department’s Religious Liberty Commission. Her removal came after she allegedly disrupted a February 9 hearing focused on the escalating issue of anti-Semitism.

During this hearing, Prejean Boller clashed with Jewish witnesses, including rabbis and students, who were sharing their experiences of abuse following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack that resulted in 1,200 fatalities.

In response to her dismissal, the 38-year-old, who is married to ex-NFL quarterback Kyle Boller, penned an open letter to Trump. She accused him of being surrounded by individuals she described as ‘heretics,’ who she claims prioritize Israel’s interests over those of the United States.

Prejean Boller also took the opportunity to remind Trump of his past support. She recalled how he defended her back when she was 21, amidst the national uproar she caused at the Miss USA pageant by stating her belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Trump, then the pageant’s owner, backed her right to express her views, allowing her to retain her title.

‘I have not changed one bit since the day you stood beside me in 2009. That is why it is so shocking to now be removed from a Religious Liberty Commission for doing the very same thing you once defended,’ Prejean Boller wrote.

The mother-of-two accused Trump’s evangelical spiritual adviser Paula White of launching a ‘witch hunt’ against her, claiming she had attempted to ban her from posting on social media about Israel and Gaza.

Prejean Boller lashed Trump for retreating from his non-interventionist principles, saying she had supported him for 20 years but ‘now, I don’t even recognize you.’

‘The MAGA I knew would never allow American troops to die for a foreign government,’ Prejean Boller wrote, referring to the Israel-backed war in Iran which has killed seven US service members since it began two weeks ago.

‘America’s sons and daughters are being sent to the Middle East to be sacrificed at the altar of heresy and false prophecy.’

She said that she had a duty to speak out against the war in Gaza as ‘my Christian faith does not allow me to ignore human suffering … while the United States and my tax dollars are paying for it.’

Prejean Boller responded to claims that she had hijacked the hearing by insisting that she had asked legitimate questions about whether Israel was beyond criticism.

‘I did exactly what commissioners are supposed to do. I asked questions,’ she wrote.

‘I thought MAGA was putting America first, not Israel. Today, I struggle to recognize the movement you started. It appears to have been hijacked by a foreign government and religious zealots attempting to fulfill their heretical end times fantasy.’

Prejean Boller concluded her letter by saying she would pray for Trump’s salvation.

‘Your eternal legacy is dependent on you entering the Kingdom of heaven, and I sure hope that one day, I will see you there,’ she wrote.

Conservatives, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and General Mike Flynn praised Prejean Boller for her letter.

‘Agree with Americans’ right to question an influential country’s leadership decisions or not, censoring citizens’ concerns is… well… concerning,’ Palin posted on X.

Flynn called it a ‘powerful and very honest letter’ and said that it reflected ‘the thoughtful and powerful sentiment of someone who stands for her faith.’

Religious Liberty Commission chair and Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said last month she had ‘hijacked’ the hearing on anti-Semitism for ‘her own personal and political agenda.’

She grilled witnesses about Israel, including questioning whether someone who viewed the killing in Gaza as ‘genocide’ should be treated as anti-Semitic.

More than 70,000 people have been killed in Gaza, the vast majority of them civilians.

Prejean Boller also asked: ‘Catholics do not embrace Zionism, just so you know. So are all Catholics anti-Semites?’

The Vatican formally recognized the state of Israel in 1993, but it rejects the Christian Zionist claim that Israel constitutes a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.

Christian Zionism, which is primarily associated with Protestant evangelicalism, holds that the return of the Jewish people to the Holy Land and the establishment of a Jewish state are prophetic.

During the hearing, Prejean Boller sparred with Seth Dillon, CEO of conservative satire website The Babylon Bee, after he criticized commentators such as Candace Owens.

Prejean Boller argued that Owens was not an anti-Semite, to which Dillon replied: ‘You should look up more of her statements.’

Owens split with The Daily Wire in early 2024 after falling out with co-founder Ben Shapiro over her rhetoric on the war in Gaza, and has since faced accusations of promoting anti-Semitic tropes.

Owens, who is Catholic, insists her positions reflect an ‘America First’ isolationism grounded in her Christian faith.

Prejean Boller said that she listens to Owens on a daily basis.

The Religious Liberty Commission was established by Trump by executive order on May 1, 2025, and is housed within the Justice Department.

Its remit is to advise the White House on religious liberty policy, identify threats to domestic religious freedom and recommend steps to protect it, with Texas Lt. Gov. Patrick appointed as chair and ex-Housing Secretary Dr. Ben Carson as vice chair.

The Daily Mail has contacted the White House and Boller for comment.
