President Trump announced the quick promotion of ex-Fox News host and State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

He appointed Bruce to be the deputy representative at the United Nations after she spent her initial six months in office as Marco Rubio’s media aide.

The president has a history of bringing Fox News personalities into his administration, including Judge Jeanine, the US attorney for D.C., Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and former TV host Dan Bongino, who now serves as the Deputy Director of the FBI.

Trump took to Truth Social to announce her nomination, calling Bruce a ‘great patriot, television personality and bestselling author.’

He added that ever since the start of his second term, she has served ‘with distinction’ at the State Department doing a ‘fantastic job.’

‘Tammy Bruce will represent our country brilliantly at the United Nations. Congratulations Tammy!’

The former Fox News personality has been front and center of the media for the past six months, since the start of the president’s second term.

This decision by the president has drawn both criticism and support, with detractors highlighting contentious remarks she made during a conversation with Israel’s i24 News three months ago.

‘America is the greatest country on earth, next to Israel, ‘ she said.

Since then, Bruce has handled the podium during pivotal moments; specifically, the Iran-Israel bombings.

During that time, her team dealt with hourly updates and made a point to communicate the risks for Americans to travel to Iran, especially those of dual nationality.

Bruce has repeatedly made note of the fact that President Trump remained the absolute decision-maker on Iran policy when fielding questions from reporters, and doubled down that Iran’s entire nuclear infrastructure was left in ‘shambles’ after American strikes.

According to an early US intelligence assessment produced by the Pentagon, the country’s nuclear facilities were not completely destroyed, only set back by months.

Bruce responded to Trump’s post with warm thanks.

‘Thank you President Trump! So grateful for POTUS’s trust in nominating me as the Deputy Representative of the US at the UN. I’ve been honored to serve as Spokesperson, and now I’m blessed that in the next few weeks my commitment to advancing America First leadership and values continues on the global stage in this new post. Onward!’

The U.S. does not currently have a permanent leader at the United Nations.

Congressman Mike Waltz, who served a short stint as Trump’s national security advisor, had his confirmation hearing to be U.N. ambassador in July.

To seal the deal, the Senate has to vote majority rule in favor of his nomination.

Bruce will face the same path.

The fate of her confirmation also lies in the hands of the Republican-led Senate, and she will likely face an intense review from both sides of the aisle.

Bruce was a longtime Democrat before she made the jump-start decision to launch a new republican identity, hopping into MAGA politics shortly after, and gaining the president’s favor.

Bruce has fervently defended the president in his foreign policy decisions on topics across the global spectrum during briefings. Issues like immigration policy, the administration’s response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, Israel’s war in Gaza and more.
