Ex-Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack arrested in Texas

Myles Jack, a former linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has been charged with deadly conduct involving the discharge of a firearm, classified as a third-degree felony. He also faces a charge for discharging a firearm in certain municipalities, which falls under a Class A misdemeanor.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Tuesday, Myles Jack found himself in legal trouble in Frisco, Texas, following an incident where he allegedly fired a gun inside a residence, according to local authorities.

The Frisco Police Department reported that officers were dispatched for a welfare check at a property located in the 2400 block of Haft River Road at approximately 5:40 a.m. Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots emanating from within the home, as detailed in a police statement.

In response, the police swiftly secured the area and initiated the evacuation of some surrounding homes to ensure public safety.

According to reports, officers observed Jack breaking through and exiting a second-floor window, subsequently falling to the ground. He was apprehended at 7:12 a.m. and transported to a nearby hospital to address injuries from the fall, which were described as non-life-threatening.

No one else was found inside the home when officers conducted a search, FPD said.

Jack faces charges of deadly conduct – discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony, and discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, a Class A misdemeanor.

The 30-year-old played for the Jaguars from 2016 through 2021, and for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and 2023.
