Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard used a slur against developmentally disabled people on Tuesday when discussing James Harden’s trade to the Clippers.

Harden was dealt to the franchise from the Sixers in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and will team up with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook in LA.

And while debating what sort of role he would have on his new team, Broussard said something he would soon apologize for.

‘You think he thinks he’s gonna play like he did in Houston? ‘ Broussard asked ‘First Things First’ colleague Nick Wright.

‘I think he’s not gonna get to play the way he wants, and he’s gonna mope and it’s not gonna work well,’ Wright replied.

Broussard then said, ‘Nick, is the man r**arded?’

The 55-year-old quickly adjusted his language to  ‘developmentally disabled’ before apologizing for his remark.

‘Let me apologize for using that word,’ he said. ‘I have a first cousin… he died a few months ago, a month or two ago, he was developmentally disabled. So I didn’t mean to use that word.’

The comment left host Kevin Wildes with a stunned look on his face, as he was seen dramatically raising his eyebrow.

Mail Sport has reached out to Fox Sports for comment.

As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden was moved to the Clippers in exchange for multiple draft picks (including two first-rounders) and veteran role players such as Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, and Robert Covington, as well as 22-year-old spark plug, Kenyon Martin Jr.

Meanwhile, the Clippers will add veteran forward PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev in addition to Harden.

Harden, who sought a trade to the Clippers during the offseason, has yet to play this season.

He originally hoped to sign a long-term deal with Philadelphia after the 2022-23 campaign, but that offer never came to fruition.

The 34-year-old former MVP then opted into the final year of his contract in June, but according to reports, did so under the belief that he would be traded by Sixers president Daryl Morey.

That didn’t happen, leading Harden to call Morey a ‘liar’ over the summer and eventually get his move.
