The suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses is currently on the run.

MINNEAPOLIS — The roommate and best friend of the suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers shared the last message he received from him.

Vance Boelter is suspected in the shooting death of DFL Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. He is also suspected in the shooting of DFL Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who are now out of surgery.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in North Minneapolis Saturday, where Boelter is said to have lived a few days a week. Boelter was not there but KARE 11 reporter Michelle Baik reports some items of his were removed by investigators.

His roommate and best friend, David Carlson, shared with media that the last text he received from Boelter came around 6 a.m. Boelter allegedly told his friend he would be dead shortly, and he loves them. Carlson said it’s unbelievable Boelter could have done this.

When he received the text message, Carlson feared Boelter may hurt himself and called the authorities.

When asked about political affiliation, Carlson said Boelter was a strong supporter of President Donald Trump, but said he had no idea Boelter knew about state politics.

Law enforcement shared images of Boelter and say he is considered armed and dangerous. The image below was taken from a security camera Saturday morning after the shooting. If anyone sees Boelter they should call 911 immediately.
