Geno Smith is excited to be with the Raiders.

The multi-time Pro Bowl quarterback was dealt from the Seahawks to the Raiders.

The trade, finalized Friday, saw the Raiders send back a third-rounder for Smith, which will be pick No. 92 in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Smith expressed his enthusiasm on social media, stating, “God is the GREATEST!! Excited to get to work and WIN. The time is NOW.”

The NFL quarterback, who will turn 35 soon, retweeted a post by NFL journalist Jordan Schultz. Schultz reported that Smith and the Raiders have already begun working on a contract extension.

Smith played as a starter for the Seahawks in the past three seasons. He spent six years with the team, taking on the role of Russell Wilson’s backup for a significant period before Wilson left for the Broncos.

Smith beat out Drew Lock — who arrived as part of the return for Wilson — for the Seahawks’ starting quarterback job ahead of the 2022 season.

That year, he broke out for 30 passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions, along with 4,282 passing yards and a league-best 69.8 completion percentage.

The Raiders made a strategic move by bringing in Smith, filling a crucial gap for an experienced quarterback, especially with the recent hiring of Pete Carroll. Carroll had coached Smith during five of his six seasons in Seattle.

The Raiders finished last season with a 4-13 record, prompting significant organizational changes.

The organization only has two seasons with a winning record since reaching the Super Bowl in 2002, and the Raiders have only been to the playoffs twice since then.
