George Clooney recently offered a rare glimpse into his personal life.
The 64-year-old actor, known for his illustrious film career, has been married to human rights lawyer Amal since 2014. The couple became parents to twins Alexander and Ella in June 2017.
Although George typically keeps family matters private, he couldn’t resist sharing a heartfelt remark while promoting his new film, “Jay Kelly.” He mentioned how his twins “still like him” and expressed that he “has nothing to complain about.”
In a conversation with the Express, George reflected on his life, stating, “I wake up each morning thankful to go to work, and I have a beautiful family to come home to. We lead a very fortunate life, and if you don’t celebrate that, something’s wrong.”
George remarked on the differences between himself and his character in “Jay Kelly,” where he stars alongside his friend Adam Sandler. He commented, “I can’t really relate to this character because I don’t have the same kind of regrets he does.”

While he rarely sheds light on family life, George, who is blazing the promo trail for his new movie Jay Kelly, could not resist making a sweet comment about how the twins ‘still like him’ and how he ‘has nothing to complain about’ (pictured in 2023)
British-Lebanese lawyer Amal and George became engaged in April 2014, before marrying in the same year and subsequently welcoming their twins three years later.
While the duo remain relatively tight-lipped about their family, in his promotional interviews, George has opened up about being happy with his life.
He said: ‘I don’t really relate to this character because I don’t have anything like the regrets this guy has. ‘I have a very different life than he does. All the people that I’ve worked with, they still work with me. And you know, my kids like me…
‘I mean, they’re eight. They could change. But at this point they still like me.’
He sweetly added: ‘I don’t find any reason to complain about anything about being famous and I don’t find anything I have to complain about.’
qIn the movie, George takes on the role of a movie star who ‘always plays himself’ in Netflix’s new comedy drama Jay Kelly, where Adam plays his manager.
The star-studded cast also features fellow Oscar winners Laura Dern, Jim Broadbent as well as Isla Fisher, Billy Crudup and Barbie director Greta Gerwig.

Jay Kelly follows a famous movie star (George, pictured) and his devoted manager, Ron (Adam), as they embark on an unexpectedly profound journey through Europe
George’s character is seen continually reminding himself that he is ‘Jay Kelly’ as he and his pal embark on a whirlwind trip through Europe, as it appears the glamour of showbiz has lost its appeal.
The movie, which has already bagged the Composer Award at the Montclair Film Festival, is directed by Noah Baumbach, who wrote the script alongside British actress Emily Mortimer.
The official synopsis reads: ‘Two middle-aged friends rediscover their youthful spirit during a chaotic weekend reunion, facing hilarious mishaps and heartfelt moments that force them to finally grow up.’
George has had an illustrious career spanning 40 years, in which he’s bagged an Academy Award for his role in Syriana in addition to a wealth of other accolades.
But during a recent interview with Variety, the Ocean’s 11 star was asked about the doubts about his range as an actor, with George furiously snapping back: ‘Do people say that I only play myself? I don’t give a sh*t.’

He went on: ‘There aren’t that many guys in my age group that are allowed to do both broad comedies like O Brother [Where Art Thou?] and then do Michael Clayton or Syriana. So if that means I’m playing myself all the time, I don’t give a sh*t.’
Echoing a quote from his character in the upcoming project, Jay Kelly, he added: ‘Have you ever tried playing yourself? It’s hard to do.’
The Hollywood hunk continued: ‘I’ve been the beneficiary of having my career not be massively successful in lots of different directions.
‘I didn’t really get successful, in the kind of success that can be blinding, until I was 33 years old [when ER began]. I’d been working for 12 years at that point.
‘I had a real understanding of how fleeting all of it is and how little it has to do with you, quite honestly.’
