Authorities in Georgia have taken a high school teacher into custody following reports of inappropriate behavior with a minor student at Lee County High School.
Danielle Weaver, a 29-year-old resident of Leesburg, faces charges of child molestation and engaging in improper sexual conduct as an employee or agent, as stated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI).
The investigation began when Lee County High School approached the Leesburg Police Department with the allegations on February 3. The GBI joined the investigation the next day to provide further assistance.
Officials identified Weaver as the person of interest in this case, with the alleged victim being a student under the age of 18 attending Lee County High School.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between GBI agents and the Leesburg Police Department, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants for Weaver on Tuesday.
Weaver turned herself in to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, and was later released on bond, according to a report from WALB News.

This investigation is active and ongoing, according to the GBI.
Once complete, the case file will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Leesburg is located in South Georgia, and is about an hour and a half north of Tallahassee, Florida.
