German Train Station Shut After Blast, Suspicious Object Found

Police shut down the main train station in Augsburg, southern Germany, on Wednesday morning after one suspicious object exploded and a second was discovered nearby.

Rail services were halted as authorities secured the area.

Officials said the initial unidentified object detonated in a passageway inside a building.

Several people suffered minor injuries as a result of the forceful noise from the blast.

The explosion also damaged several windows.

Road traffic and public transportation in the vicinity of the station were also disrupted, police said on X.

Further information on the blast and the second suspicious object, which did not explode, were not immediately not available.
