Giants' first four games include Taylor Swift

The Giants will kick off their 2025 season with a familiar matchup against two opponents. They will begin on September 7th on the road against Washington, followed by a road game against the Cowboys on September 14th in Week 2.

It will be an early taste of NFC East competition for a team coming off a last-place finish in the division.

After finally playing a home game, the challenges continue for the Giants as they face the Chiefs in Week 3 at MetLife Stadium. This game will be under the bright lights for a nationally televised Sunday night game, with a potential Taylor Swift sighting among the audience.

In Week 4, it is another home game for the Giants, this time against another 2024 playoff team in the Chargers.

The entirety of the Giants 2025 schedule will be released later in the day Wednesday.

This season opener serves as a stark reminder of how quickly a team’s fortunes can change with the arrival of a new, talented, and dynamic quarterback leading the team.

The Giants lost both games to the Commanders last season, two close-call losses that fueled the Commanders’ resurgence and doomed the Giants in their eventual 3-14 disaster of a season.

In Week 3 last season, the Giants lost, 21-18, in Washington in a game that had to be seen to be believed. The Commanders did not score a single touchdown, getting all their points on seven Austin Seibert field goals.

The Giants were left without a kicker when Graham Gano injured his hamstring on the opening kickoff.

After punter Jamie Gillan missed badly on an extra-point attempt, head coach Brian Daboll was scared off and decided to go for the two-point conversion after the next two Giants touchdowns. Both Daniel Jones’ passes failed.

Rookie Jayden Daniels notched his first NFL victory, directing a 65-yard scoring drive that ended with Seibert’s game-winning field goal as time expired.

In Week 9, the Commanders beat the Giants, 27-22, at MetLife Stadium. A sack-fumble by Jones was not helpful as the Giants lost their fourth consecutive game to fall to 2-7.

In Week 2, the Giants will try to do something they have not been able to accomplish since 2016 — escape AT&T Stadium with a victory.

They have lost eight straight games in Arlington, Texas and are 1-11 anywhere in their last 12 games with the Cowboys.

The combined regular-season records of the first four Giants opponents in 2024 was 45-23.
