Assessing the Giants’ 33-15 defeat against the Patriots in Monday night’s road game.

Offense

Jaxson Dart appeared hesitant at the start, struggling to find a balance between taking risks and protecting himself after returning from a two-game hiatus due to a concussion. At one point, he should have opted to go out of bounds instead of absorbing a heavy hit from linebacker Christian Elliss. Dart’s highlight was a well-executed audible that resulted in a 30-yard touchdown pass to Darius Slayton. Tight end Theo Johnson missed an opportunity to catch a pass in the end zone during the second quarter, while Devin Singletary managed a 22-yard touchdown run. Unfortunately, the offensive line failed to provide Dart with the protection he’s been accustomed to in previous games.

Grade: F

Defense

Drake Maye showcased his skills with a commanding performance, completing 24 out of 31 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns, all while barely facing pressure in the pocket. His touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte, lofted over cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, was particularly impressive. On defense, Bobby Okereke made two critical stops in the red zone, forcing the Patriots to settle for a field goal on their opening drive. Rookie Kyle Williams managed to outpace cornerback Paulson Adebo for a 33-yard touchdown reception. Although TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson were initially contained in the run game, their impact diminished as the game progressed.
