HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Lauren Graham, best known for playing the fast-talking single mother Lorelai Gilmore in “Gilmore Girls,” just got some permanent real estate on Hollywood Boulevard.

Twenty-five years after the hit show debuted to TV audiences, Graham became the latest to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, was a guest speaker at Friday’s ceremony.

The actress, producer and New York Times best-selling author was surrounded by a joyful crowd ahead of the unveiling of her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Fans in the crowd sported “Gilmore Girls” memorabilia and held books authored by Graham.

While her debut role was on the show “Loving” in 1993, it was her role as the witty, fun and dedicated single mother to Rory Gilmore in the fictional small town of Stars Hollow that has touched generations of fans.

“This show just speaks so much to my life. It really does. I could start crying, so we don’t want to do that,” said fan Margaret Bragg.

Araceli Oliveros, who watched “Gilmore Girls” in Spanish with her daughter, said it’s the best TV show and she’s watched it several times.

Some of the show’s most beloved characters, including Emily, Michelle and Luke, were there to celebrate, along with the show’s creator.

“Lauren Graham changed my entire life,” Sherman-Palladino said.

Graham, who has also starred in films and shows like “Parenthood,” thanked the creators of the characters she’s played, and of course, the fans.

“The part that has really stuck with people is Lorelai, and I just want to say a special thank you to the fans of the show who have been so dedicated and so loving,” Graham said.

Graham’s star is number 2,823 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
