Gladys Knight in Jacksonville rescheduled for July

The new date is July 15, 2025. Tickets to the original show will be honored.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Seven-time Grammy-winning singer Gladys Knight will now perform on July 15 at the Florida Theatre.

Her original appearance was scheduled for March 8 but was canceled at the last minute that night. Florida Theatre officials confirmed to First Coast News on Saturday night that Knight’s performance was canceled because she and another member of her staff became ill backstage.

“Ms. Knight and another member of her staff fell ill backstage very suddenly and at the last minute, which necessitated the sudden cancellation of the show,” Florida Theatre President Numa Saisselin said in a statement.

Officials said Knight, 80, was attended to by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and “was smiling and in good spirits when they left the building.”

The July 15 show will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the original event will be honored.
