The Glynn County Police Department reports that Officer Johnell D. Leggett, aged 25, is accused of being part of an incident at the Odyssey Lake apartments.
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — On Thursday, an officer from Glynn County found himself under arrest following an alleged property damage event at a Brunswick apartment complex, as stated by the local police department.
The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) disclosed in a statement that officers were dispatched to Odyssey Lake apartments, situated off Grants Ferry Road, in response to property damage reported at around 4:10 p.m.
Once on the scene, officers identified Officer Johnell D. Leggett, 25, as a participant in the incident, according to GCPD.
The department mentioned that their Major Crimes Unit arrived at the location to carry on with the investigation. Following their probe, Officer Leggett was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, classified as a misdemeanor.
Leggett has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation, according to GCPD.
The release states that GCPD’s Office of Professional Standards and Accountability will conduct a “concurrent investigation” into the incident.
