() Shannon Gray, attorney for the Goncalves family, told “Banfield” on Wednesday that a second weapon was used by convicted killer Bryan Kohberger in the 2022 murder of Kaylee Goncalves.
Three others, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, were also murdered by Kohberger, who received four life sentences Wednesday.
“There was blunt force trauma to Kelly’s face,” Gray told .
“There was a second, some sort of weapon that was used against her face, and the investigators didn’t know what that was and couldn’t figure it out.”
Goncalves was the only victim who suffered blunt force and asphyxial injuries, in addition to sharp force wounds.
“When they’re referencing the second weapon aspect of it, it’s that because of the blunt force trauma that was … to her face and her mouth area,” Gray added.
Gray added investigators still don’t know what the second weapon was: “There was something that was used, and they … don’t know what it is.”
Goncalves was stabbed more than 20 times, and her fatal injuries included a left lung laceration, a liver laceration, two subdural bleeds and a stab behind her clavicle that cut her subclavian vein and artery.
