CBP agents and officers not getting paid during government shutdown

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — Two Border Patrol agents, who prefer to stay anonymous, shared with Border Report that they’re not overly concerned about missing paychecks during the ongoing government shutdown. They trust that “their money will eventually come through.”

However, they acknowledged worries about managing expenses like “travel soccer, car payments, and other monthly bills” if the budget stalemate in Washington drags on much longer. The shutdown has now reached its third week.

These agents are among approximately 60,000 Customs and Border Patrol staff who continue to work, ensuring the security of the nation’s borders and ports of entry.
