A recent act of vandalism at Yosemite National Park has left visitors outraged after a boulder was defaced with graffiti. The incident has sparked widespread disapproval among park-goers, who have labeled the act as “disgraceful.”

The uproar began when an Instagram user shared a video on their Stories this past Sunday. The footage revealed images of a large rock, a door, and an informational sign at the popular Bridalveil Fall site—all marked with the word “Yeti” in graffiti.

Expressing frustration, the Instagram user commented, “What’s wrong with people? There should be a $5,000 fine and a six-month jail term for those who vandalize national parks.”

This incident marks the first significant act of vandalism in Yosemite in over three years. The last reported episode occurred in May 2022, when vandals spray-painted blue and white graffiti at numerous spots along the Yosemite Falls Trail, according to a report by The Fresno Bee at the time.
