Former NFL star Greg Hardy claimed he and his family are “perfectly fine” after his arrest last week for allegedly assaulting a family member.

Hardy, 36, was arrested in Texas last Wednesday on a charge of “assault causes bodily injury family,” according to TMZ.

“Please stop spreading what these chaos machines post, they don’t know any facts then fuel the fire that effects my kids and my wife,” Hardy wrote in an Instagram post Monday.

“Things get emotional but has never and will never be what you clowns are trying to spread. I ask with all my heart please, My family and I are all perfectly fine. Please stop spreading lies and rumors and give our family the time and space to work through it all in private.”

Hardy’s post included a photo of him, a woman and two children, along with two videos that showed him and the woman exchanging kisses and the children enjoying a bouncy gym.

The former Panthers and Cowboys star said in 2020 that he had a son and daughter.

The arrest affidavit stated that Miranda Thorp, described as Hardy’s girlfriend, called the police after he attacked her, leaving visible marks, and he also took her car, per CBSnews.com.

Police noticed scratches and redness on Thorp that were “consistent with a physical altercation,” according to the Daily Mail.

Thorp allegedly told Hardy she had viewed messages on his phone and believed he had been unfaithful, which led to Hardy telling her to get out of his face, per the report.

Hardy allegedly shoved Thorp to the ground, straddled her and put his hands on her throat.

The former pass rusher told police, though, that Thorp had poked him in the forehead with her index finger before he moved her out of his way by grabbing her arms and placing her on a bed, per CBSnews.com.

Hardy’s NFL career ended in 2015 following a 2014 domestic violence arrest that led to the NFL suspending him for violating the league’s domestic violence policy.

He was found guilty of assaulting a woman and communicating threats.

The NFL initially suspended him for 10 games before it would be reduced to four games.

He appeared in 75 career games, spending five seasons with the Panthers and one with Dallas, and tallied 40 sacks.

Hardy later transitioned to mixed martial arts and boxing, having last boxed in 2024 in a losing effort.
