In a shocking development related to the brutal murder of 14-year-old Danika Troy, a legal guardian of one of the implicated Florida teenagers was apprehended on drug charges just hours after the crime. Danika was tragically lured into the woods, where she was executed and set ablaze.

Jana Williams, 36, who temporarily assumed custody of 16-year-old Gabriel Williams following his mother’s passing, was detained and booked at the Santa Rosa County Jail on December 1 for a probation violation and felony drug possession, according to court documents.

Authorities informed The Post that part of their investigation includes determining if Gabriel unlawfully acquired his aunt’s firearm and used it in Danika’s murder.

Jana Williams’ probation originated from an April arrest related to controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia, and her criminal history features various offenses, including traffic violations, theft, and drug-related charges as recent as October 2023.

On December 1, the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office charged Williams with several new offenses: felony probation violation, felony drug possession, and misdemeanors for a moving traffic violation and drug equipment possession. She remains in custody without the option of bail.

A Facebook photo posted in February 2022 shows Williams, her husband and her accused-murderer nephew Gabriel at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando.

“10 years! Can’t believe you’ve put up with me! I love you!” the photo caption, written by Williams’ husband, reads.

Gabriel Williams and Kimahri Blevins, 14, have both been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in Troy’s death, accused of luring the teen into a stand of woods in Pace and shooting her to death before burning her body.

Danika’s mother, Ashley Troy, told The Post Monday the boys convinced her to come with them into the woods under the pretense that Gabriel had a crush on her.

“I’m just left asking why. She just wanted to be in love,” Danika’s anguished mother said.

The teen suspects are being held in juvenile detention without bond.

An inquiry to the Office of the State Attorney in the First Judicial Circuit Court of Florida as to whether they would be charged as adults, or whether the suspects’ parents would face charges, was not answered Monday.
