The Met Gala never fails to push the boundaries of fashion, but one guest this year took it to unprecedented heights.

While Nicole Kidman, Lauren Sanchez, and Gigi Hadid stunned on the red carpet, a globally recognized supermodel ensured that all eyes were firmly fixed on her spectacular entrance.

This year’s theme, “Costume Art,” paired with the dress code “Fashion is Art,” offered a wide canvas for creativity. Embracing the theme wholeheartedly, the 52-year-old television star made a grand entrance that could best be described as a living sculpture.

Adorned in a design reminiscent of sculptural stone, she seemed to embody both the Statue of Liberty and a classical Greek statue in her eye-catching outfit.

The bold transformation instantly brought to mind the intricate costumes she is known for at her famously extravagant Halloween celebrations.

But can you guess the mystery Met Gala attendee?

If you said Heidi Klum, you’re clearly a fashion insider.

And fans were quick to react on social media, with one follower commenting: ‘Heidi Klum found a second Halloween in the Met Gala’.

Another wrote: ‘She is on theme and she can repeat this for her Halloween party.’

A third added: ‘I love how she brings Halloween spirit to everything.’

But not everyone was impressed, with one critic tweeting: ‘This is genuinely disturbing.’

Another simply said: ‘I can’t move on from this.’

Klum is no stranger to the Met Gala, having attended several over the years, including 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019, often opting for bold, fashion-forward looks that match the event’s theatrical spirit.

She is, however, even more famously known for her Halloween parties, where she regularly transforms into elaborate, almost unrecognizable characters.

Wrapped in sculptural, stone-like detailing, Klum appeared to channel both the Statue of Liberty and a classical Greek figure in one striking ensemble

Over the years, those events have become nearly as talked-about as the Met Gala itself.

‘The title “Costume Art” refers to the history of the Costume Institute,’ Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s curator, said at a recent press conference.

Bolton, who selects the theme, said fashion has ‘the status of art because of, and not in spite of, its relation to the body’.

The 2026 Met Gala had a host committee that included committee co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoe Kravitz, along with members Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor and more.

Costume Art will run from May 10 through January 10 next year, following the Met Gala on May 4.

The event is a huge money-maker for the museum and provides the Costume Institute with its main source of funding.

The 2026 event is the first since Anna Wintour technically stepped back from one of her famed roles at Vogue.

Wintour announced she was stepping down as the editor-in-chief of American Vogue after 37 years in June last year.

The global director for Vogue and global chief content officer at Conde Nast hired Chloe Malle as the new head of editorial content at Vogue.

Wintour has famously been incredibly hands-on with the Met Gala over the years, and is credited with making it the splashy A-list affair it has become, beloved by celebrities such as Rihanna, the Kardashians, Blake Lively, Zendaya and more.

Last year, many stars did not attend the Met Gala, and some people thought it was to avoid making a faux pas because of the theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which was centered around the political and aesthetic constructs of Black dandyism (a meticulous and flamboyant style created by Black people to challenge social limitations placed on them).
