Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have recently ignited rumors of a possible separation, adding their names to the list of celebrity couples facing such speculation.
The renowned musical pair, who have shared a relationship for over ten years, became the talk of the town following their absence from the 2025 Country Music Association Awards held on November 19. This unexpected no-show fueled divorce whispers.
Their notable absence was particularly surprising given that Shelton, a country music icon, was in the running for Musical Event of the Year. He was nominated for his collaboration with Post Malone on the track “Pour Me a Drink.”
Adding to the speculation, the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, has not made a joint appearance on a red carpet since March.
Despite concerns from fans that Shelton, 49, and Stefani, 56, might be on the brink of a split, a source close to the couple assured the Daily Mail that they are navigating the ups and downs of nearly five years of marriage much like any other couple.
‘Things are pretty good with them, certainly not as dire as the rumors,’ the insider said.

The couple, who have been married since 2021, recently sparked split rumors when they skipped the 2025 Country Music Association Awards in NovemberÂ
Between Shelton’s upcoming Las Vegas residency in January and his reality competition show The Road currently airing on CBS, the source said Shelton and Stefani approach their relationship differently now than they have in years past.
‘They are having to be a lot more intentional about spending time together and keeping in contact,’ the source said, adding that while they’ve ‘had a few bumps in the road, it’s mostly because of their busy schedules.’
Still, the insider suggested that the couple’s ‘off-the-charts’ physical chemistry is what has been ‘keeping the spark going’ all these years.
The source even claimed that Shelton had recently said his physical chemistry with Stefani is ‘as good now as it was when they first started dating 10 years ago.’
Stefani, a trailblazer of the 1990s alt-rock pop punk scene, and her husband, the Oklahoma-born country music star, shocked the world when they first announced their relationship back in 2015.
The unexpected couple famously met in April 2014, when Stefani joined Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice as a judge.

At the time, Stefani was married to rocker Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three sons – Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 11.
Meanwhile, Shelton was married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.
But it wasn’t long before the judges were bonding over their respective divorces.Â
Shelton was first to announce his split from Lambert in July 2015. One month later, Stefani and Rossdale shared they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage.
By November of that year, Shelton and Stefani confirmed their relationship, as a source told People at the time they had been ‘supporting each other through a difficult time and they’re really happy together.’
The couple announced their engagement in October 2020, with Stefani sharing a photo of her engagement ring alongside her new fiancé.Â
They later tied the knot in July 2021 at Shelton’s 1,300-acre ranch in Oklahoma.
Since then, Shelton and Stefani haven’t shied away from publicly declaring their love on social media.

In fact, Stefani appeared to put the current split rumors to rest when she shared a PDA-filled photo of herself with her husband on Thanksgiving.
On November 28, Stefani posted a photo of Shelton giving her a kiss on the cheek to her Instagram Stories.
The loved-up selfie marked the first time Shelton had been featured on Stefani’s social media account since July, when she posted a tribute for their fourth wedding anniversary.
The heartfelt video compilation, which was set to the couple’s duet Purple Irises, featured multiple clips of the pair kissing.
‘7-3-21. every day i thank God for u @blakeshelton. happy anniversary,’ she captioned the post, adding, ‘i love u so much.’
On October 3, Shelton posted a tribute for Stefani to celebrate the singer’s 56th birthday.
He shared a close-up selfie of the pair, which showed Stefani kissing Shelton on the cheek.
‘Y’all help me wish @gwenstefani a happy birthday!!!!!! I love you pretty girl!!!!!’ he wrote in the caption.

As far as the intimate details of their love life, Stefani recently let fans in on the secret to their lasting marriage when she appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show in April.
When asked by the talk show host about ‘the best advice you’ve ever received about love,’ Stefani initially shocked audiences when she referenced a ‘third party’ in her marriage to Shelton.
However, Stefani – who is a devout Catholic – quickly made it clear that she was speaking about God.
She pointed her finger upwards and said, ‘Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party.’
This wasn’t the first time she has shared how religion played a role in their relationship.
Speaking to People in 2024, Stefani dubbed it a ‘miracle’ that she was able to move on with Shelton after her devastating split from Rossdale.
‘The last four years of my life, I got engaged, then I got married and started my life over,’ she told the outlet.
‘Something that I wanted since I was a little girl is to be married and have this love that I saw my parents have and have babies.’
Stefani said her ‘dream was completely ruined’ when she ended her relationship with Rossdale after a total of 19 years together. ‘It was crushed,’ she added, ‘and I had to figure out how I was going to move forward and make a new dream.’
‘God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle,’ Stefani said.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Stefani and Shelton for comment, but has not heard back.
