The Powerball jackpot continues its upward climb, reaching a remarkable $775 million after Monday night’s draw failed to yield a grand prize winner.
WASHINGTON — With no jackpot winner emerging from Monday’s Powerball drawing, the prize has now ascended to $775 million.
While no one secured the grand prize, three players matched the first five numbers, each winning a million dollars. These fortunate tickets were sold in California, Georgia, and Illinois, though none matched the Powerball number.
This growing jackpot now stands as the second-largest Powerball prize of the year, positioning Wednesday’s draw among the top 10 largest in Powerball’s history. However, it still falls short of the monumental $1.8 billion jackpot shared by two ticket holders from Missouri and Texas in September, marking the second-largest lottery win in U.S. history.
Monday marked the 37th draw since the last jackpot was claimed on September 6, with the Missouri and Texas winners beating the daunting odds of 1 in 292.2 million. This streak of 42 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner set a new record for Powerball.
The largest Powerball jackpot remains $2.04 billion, won in California in November 2022. This year has seen three major Powerball wins: the record $1.787 billion September prize, a $526.5 million jackpot claimed in California in March and a $328.5 million prize won in Oregon in January.
