While growing up in the state of Kentucky, both Clooney and Ada had been very close and would often play games together.

‘I came home from work one day and George and our daughter and several friends were having a party in [a room of our house],’ their mother Nina had told HGTV back in 2006, per People

‘They had taken [marshmallows], and they would lick one side of them, and throw them at each other. When I came in, there were marshmallows stuck all over the room.’

Ada had married Norman Zeidler in 1987 and the pair welcomed two children – with Clooney being their uncle. Norman – a retired army captain – had passed away in October 2004 of a heart attack.

During the nuptials, the actor had reportedly read scripture while their relative and Hollywood star Rosemary Clooney sang to the newlyweds.

In regards to being an uncle to his sister’s children, Clooney had previously told CBS This Morning back in 2015, ‘I’ve got a niece and nephew.

‘My nephew was just made prom king. From the high school that I went to where I was not named [prom king].’
