The situation appeared to unfold inside the Target store on State and Madison streets on the first floor near the escalators, ABC7 was told.

After an apparent fight between the security guard and the suspect, witnesses say another woman was injured while a suspect ran out of the store. ABC7 saw as paramedics take her out of the store in a wheelchair.

One witness, who is visiting from Houston, Texas, describing me what he saw.

“The guy was just acting crazy. They were fighting. At first, they were fighting, and they got down with it. They were tussling. The security guard took him,” the witness said. “Employees, they were doing their jobs. They separated us. They were getting everybody out, and you can the officer on the ground.” 3:13

ABC7 is waiting to hear back from Chicago police about the investigation, including the condition of the apparent security guard and whether anyone was arrested.

No further information was immediately available.
