In Texas, a heroic rescue mission unfolded, saving a young woman who had been trapped for several days in a steep ravine.
The incident began around 5:25 p.m. on June 28 when a young man, passing by a wooded area behind a local high school, heard faint cries for help.
Driven by curiosity, he tracked the sound and discovered a young woman, stuck for days in deep mud and sewage at the bottom of a ravine.
The Dallas Police Department, alongside Dallas Fire-Rescue, promptly mobilized a rescue operation. Despite battling 104-degree heat and maneuvering through a challenging quarter-mile stretch of rugged terrain, they reached the stranded woman.

Rescuers were able to pull the woman out of the muck and rushed her to a local hospital, where she was treated for severe dehydration, prolonged sun exposure and other injuries.
It is unclear how the woman got stuck.

In a statement Monday, the Dallas Police Department praised the heroic joint effort.
“The well-being of the Dallas community is not something that’s handled by a single agency,” the Dallas Police Department wrote in an X post. “It takes a collaborative effort from multiple teams and organizations working side-by-side to ensure every person’s safety.”
