HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (WLS) — The authorities in Highland Park have announced the arrest of a shooting suspect who was apprehended in Indiana on Friday. This arrest is linked to the case of a man critically injured during a shooting incident on Monday night.
The incident occurred in the 300-block of Walker Avenue, an area close to the Highwood border in Highland Park.

According to police reports, the 30-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, his status began improving by Tuesday morning.
The breakthrough in the case came when investigators made public images of two individuals of interest. These individuals were reportedly seen conversing with the victim prior to the shooting event.
Subsequent investigations led police to identify one of these individuals as the key suspect, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant. Highland Park police, in collaboration with federal and regional agencies, focused their efforts on tracking the suspect, who had previously been spotted at a local residence before disappearing from the area.
Law enforcement in Fort Wayne, Indiana, responded to a call for service involving the suspect on Friday. Police identified the Lake County, Illinois arrest warrant during their investigation.
The suspect was apprehended and will remain in custody in Indiana on local charges until he is extradited to Illinois and charged in connection with the shooting in Highland Park.
Police said the shooting was an isolated incident, and those involved knew each other.
Officials did not immediately say whether they are still looking for a second person on Friday.
