Diners at Hamptons hotel fight back against 'pathetic' protesters

Protesters stormed an iconic Hamptons hotel over Labor Day weekend, chanting ‘tax the rich’ and claiming the customers are fascists.

Activists with the group Planet Over Profit posted a video of themselves barging into The American Hotel in Sag Harbor on Saturday.

‘While you’re all here in the Hamptons indulging in $200 caviar, remember that your wealth is bankrolling a real fascist regime that’s silencing your neighbors. You should feel ashamed,’ declared one protester.

The rest of the group joined in, chanting, ‘Tax the rich. Tax the m*****f***ing rich,’ as they marched through the ornate dining room.

As the protesters were ushered out, one fell and claimed a hotel patron kicked him in the neck while he was on the ground.

‘We challenged the elite at one of the priciest restaurants in the Hamptons. In response, they physically assaulted us,’ Planet Over Profit wrote alongside their shared post.

‘These individuals have played a part in bringing about this fascist regime. The nightmarish world that Trump is creating benefits them exclusively. We cannot let them go unchallenged.’

The American Hotel is the same hotel where Justin Timberlake had been drinking before his DUI arrest last June.

It was built in 1846 and features eight guest rooms, each decorated with American antiques, which costs an average of $500 per night during the summer season.

The hotel restaurant is considered a benchmark Long Island dining spot, boasting an award-winning wine list and a reputation for serving the best cigars, according to its website.

The menu offers American-French cuisine and features a $200 Beluga Hybrid Kaluga Caviar.

The Daily Mail has contacted The American Hotel for more information.

‘The Hamptons protest is meant to be both symbolic and strategic as it directly confronts the billionaires who summer in East Hampton while making visible the hidden flow of money fueling [Andrew] Cuomo, [Eric] Adams, and [Donald] Trump,’ Planet Over Profit told Business Insider.

Many commenters blasted the protesters for interrupting the patrons’ dinner and claimed their anger is misdirected.

‘Instead of trying to make your life better, you attack those that are simply enjoying a meal and a night out. So pathetic,’ one person said.

‘You were the losers in high school that no one cared about. Now this is how you demand attention. There is reason for that. Ugly, jealous and pathetic humans.’

Another person added, ‘You are financially illiterate morons. No one cares what you think, and no one is listening.’

‘Get jobs or hobbies,’ a third person said. ‘Get a haircut and a job. You think you’re the first to do this? Poor naïve puppies,’ said a fourth.

Others pointed out that the Hamptons is known for its Democrat clientele and thought it was ironic for the protesters to be preaching liberal ideals.

‘This is total BS. Sag Harbor is 99 percent liberals. Every single weekend they have protests against Trump. The rich kids of the liberals are who posted this. Nice try,’ one person said.

‘Are u a f*****g idiot? This is your precious liberal elites, the richest whitest liberals on the planet and the Obamas. The Hamptons is your territory d*****t,’ said a second person.

A third person added, ‘Entitled leftist scream at even more entitled leftist. Why would republicans do such a thing.’

Some people agreed with the protesters’ message, but thought they could have done better and had a more effective protest.

‘I don’t actually have a problem with this. Personally, I wouldn’t participate, but I kinda support these people doing it,’ one person said.

‘Listen y’all are cool for yelling at these a******s but you can’t just yell at fascists and then play the victim when they assault you, that’s a tactic for the bygone neoliberal era. Please adapt, the stakes are high,’ said another.

‘Too bad about the wait staff, hopelessly confused as to which side they’re on. WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE,’ added a third person.

Justin Timberlake was pulled over on June 18, 2024 after a young cop saw him blow a stop sign and swerve in the right lane.

Timberlake had been at the posh The American Hotel located on Main Street in Sag Harbor before the humiliating incident, and was arrested shortly after midnight for allegedly drunk driving.

Although Timberlake claimed he only had one martini at the hotel, prosecutors subpoenaed the business to gather information since the singer refused to take a breath test during his arrest.
