This critical 8-inch pipeline supplies water to a large portion of Dixmoor, affecting between 800 and 1,000 residents. Officials noted that this incident marks the sixth such occurrence in the village since last Wednesday.
Repair crews are on-site addressing the issue, which is complicated by its location beneath railroad tracks, posing challenges to the repair efforts.
ABC7 interviewed several locals who mentioned experiencing water supply problems, primarily low water pressure, with only a trickle flowing from their taps since Saturday.
