PASADENA, Calif. — Football and comedy collide in the new series “Chad Powers.” Ahead of its much-anticipated debut on Hulu, the cast came together for a “green” carpet premiere at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

“Chad Powers” features Glen Powell as the title character of the sports comedy, playing a quarterback who puts on a new face, literally, to revive his college football career.

“He was a cocky arrogant kid, and he blew it and he’s trying to put his light back together, I think it’s a pretty relatable story no matter what you’re doing,” said actor Toby Huss.

Powell, who co-created the show, brought his entire family to the premiere, but also complimented his work family, for their help in bringing this character to life.

WATCH: Glen Powell, Steve Zahn say passion for college football was driving force behind ‘Chad Powers’

Glen Powell and Steve Zahn say the driving force behind the production of “Chad Powers” was their passion for college football.

“It’s all about bringing a championship team together,” said Powell. “That’s the thing I’m really proud of this cast, and crew showed up every day and crushed it.”

Two-time Super Bowl winner Peyton Manning is also an executive producer on the series. He says he even lent a hand on set to help with, of all things, snapping.

“You kind of hold your hands like this, he kind of held his hand in an awkward position, and I’m like you’ve got to fix those hands, Glen!” Manning said.

Powell wasn’t the only one with an arm. Actress Perry Mattfeld says she also perfected her quarterbacking form with a little help from her husband, USC legend Mark Sanchez. But she still needs work on the football lingo.

“I wanted to make sure I could spiral before I could get on set,” said Mattfeld.

Sanchez jumped in with a correction: “Just say throw.”

“Chad Powers” will premiere on Hulu on Sept. 30, and the cast is promising captivating football, and even more compelling characters and plenty of heart and humor.

Touchdown! Hulu released the new trailer for “Chad Powers,” starring Glen Powell. The 6-part series premieres September 30 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
