Fresh insights have emerged about the eagerly anticipated second season of “Deli Boys.”
The Onyx Collective series, “Deli Boys,” delves into the lives of two Pakistani American brothers who are thrust into a world of intrigue after their father’s untimely death. Inheriting his deli, they soon uncover his clandestine involvement in criminal activities. The show features a talented cast, including Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan, and Fred Armisen.
According to the official synopsis, the upcoming season promises intense drama and suspense. The Dar brothers find themselves awash with ill-gotten gains while being targeted by Philadelphia’s most dubious criminals. The plot thickens with the introduction of Max Sugar, a casino magnate and money launderer who complicates matters with his romantic interest in Lucky, turning laundering into a whirlwind affair. Meanwhile, Raj is scheming to exact revenge on Ahmad, Mir is ambitiously trying to grow DarCo without causing its downfall, and Philadelphia District Attorney Andrew Chadwater is eyeing a major bust to boost his political ambitions.
Fans can look forward to the return of Tan France, reprising his role as the British mobster Zubair.
Additionally, the second season will welcome Kumail Nanjiani to the cast in the role of Danyal, a defense attorney hired by Fred Armisen’s character, Max Sugar.
Lilly Singh guest stars as Aisha, Maalik Ali’s (Shahjehan Khan) wife who is obsessed with Raj (Shaikh).
Robin Thede guest stars as Dr. Iverson, a couples therapist with questionable ethics.
Andrew Rannells recurs as Andrew Chadwater, a district attorney with political aspirations of becoming mayor.
Ali and Jagannathan hinted at some exciting new guest stars when On The Red Carpet caught up with them at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in February.
“We have unbelievable guest stars. Like you actually…it’s incomprehensible,” said Jagannathan.
“It was truly like an exciting elevation of where we ended up in season one, so I’m just excited for people to see it,” added Ali.
