GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) Human remains have been discovered not far from where an Oakland County man vanished during the Electric Forest music festival in 2018.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the remains. They were discovered in a “wooded area” near the Double JJ Ranch northwest of Rothbury on Monday, according to Michigan State Police. MSP Lt. Michelle Robinson told News 8 that police are awaiting forensic results.
Forensic anthropologists from the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.S. School of Medicine are helping with the recovery, MSP said.

Kevin Graves, 28, was last seen July 1, 2018, at the popular Electric Forest music festival in Grant Township. His family said he argued with his girlfriend and he left to go back to his tent. But when she went there to find him, they said, he was gone.
Volunteers searched the festival grounds later that month and found no trace of Graves. In 2019, his family handed out missing persons flyers at Electric Forest. In 2023, they helped put up a billboard bearing Graves’ face near the festival entrance.
Graves’ father Gary Graves said he has been haunted by questions, always wondering where his son could be.
“You wake up in the morning thinking about him,” Gary Graves told News 8 in 2023. “You go to bed thinking about him. I dream about him.”
