CHICAGO A search is underway for a child who police say was abducted on the city’s South Side.

According to police, officers are searching for 5-year-old Blessen Turner, who was abducted near the 6300 block of South Calumet Avenue in Washington Park. She was last seen Wednesday.

Officers said the missing girl was last seen wearing a school uniform that consisted of navy blue pants and a navy blue shirt that was covered by a rainbow Mickey Mouse hooded sweatshirt. She was also seen wearing grey and black Jordan gym shoes.

The missing child, who has black hair and dark brown eyes, stands 3 feet tall and weighs around 36 pounds.

According to police, the child may be in the company of her father, who was identified by police as Darshawn Turner. Officers said the two may be traveling in a black older model Toyota that has a temporary plate in the window, though the number is unknown.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 5-year-old Blessen Turner is asked to contact the CPD Area One SVU at 312-747-8380 or dial 911.
