Devon Aoki’s spouse has been implicated in a hit-and-run incident, according to police reports, after allegedly colliding with a scooter rider and then retreating to his Florida estate.

Court documents indicate that 40-year-old James Hunter Bailey was taken into custody on Monday. He faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury and for resisting an officer without violence, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Bailey, who tied the knot with the 2 Fast 2 Furious actress in 2011, shares four children with her.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, officers from the Coral Gables Police Department responded to a hit-and-run incident involving injuries.

The authorities claim Bailey was behind the wheel of a white Audi SQ7 SUV at the time of the accident, allegedly hitting a man on a stand-up scooter at a crosswalk.

The victim’s girlfriend told police that her boyfriend’s ‘left foot was stuck under the vehicle’s right tire.’

‘She was frantically asking the driver of the Audi SQ7 to move the vehicle back in order to release [the victim’s] food from underneath the tire,’ the police report stated.

Bailey allegedly ‘fled the area without rendering aid, providing information or reporting the crash to police.’

The victim sustained serious injuries to his food, including two fractures, according to police. 

Officers said the vehicle was captured on ‘several’ automated license plate readers as it fled the area.

They responded to the sprawling, seven bedroom, seven and half bath mansion listed as the registered address for the Audi SQ7 SUV.

An officer ‘made contact with one of the vehicles registered owners, Ms. Devon Aoki, who stated she did not know the whereabouts of her Audi.’

According to the police report, as the officer was leaving the house, Bailey arrived at the residence in the Audi SQ7 SUV.

The cop said he activated his emergency lights and called out for Bailey to stop walking and come towards him.

However, Bailey allegedly ran away from the officer, entered his home and locked the front door. 

The officer inspected the Audi SQ7 SUV and found that it had ‘minor damage consistent with a collision with a pedestrian on a stand-up scooter.’

When cop’s arrived at the couple’s home, they say Aoki did not know where he Audi was, but shortly after Bailey approached the house and ran inside

‘I observed paint transfer marks and small paint chips on the right front bumper and hood area,’ the cop stated.

A few moments later,  after ‘looking at police officers through the windows,’ Bailey exited the mansion, identified himself and was arrested.

He was booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and released on his own recognizance.

Bailey’s next court date is scheduled for February 13. 

Aoki, whose brother is DJ Steve Aoki, is one of the shortest fashion models in the business, standing at 5ft5in. 

However, she has found plenty of success in the modeling and fashion world.

In the late 90s, she became the face of Versace and also posed for Chanel, Kenzo, Moschino, Fendi and many more. 

She has also acted in several film roles, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Sin City, DOA: Dead or Alive and Mutant Chronicles.
