CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Cleveland police are conducting an investigation following a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in two deaths and injuries to two more individuals, according to information obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team.
The incident took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, in the vicinity of 7025 Fleet Avenue, close to a Sunoco gas station located in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland.
Authorities confirmed that two victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the remaining two were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical care.
The victims who died were both men, ages 37 and 46. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the 37-year-old man as Deon Stallings of Cleveland.
The victims who were injured are also both men, ages 31 and 34.
“Preliminary information indicates that an altercation occurred between several individuals at this location prior to the shooting,” reads a news release from police. “Detectives recovered two firearms and are actively reviewing evidence to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.”
