I got fired for dragging boring as f--k NYC influencers in a viral video

Let it go or be let go.

After harping on how “boring” New York City fashion influencers are, a social media content creator was canned for her comments.

Bridget, known as @martinifeeny online, recently shared a lengthy complaint on social media that received 2.4 million views on TikTok. She criticized Manhattan-based creators for being unoriginal and repetitive.

Even though most viewers agreed with Bridget’s perspective in the comments, she ultimately lost her job at a major luxury fashion company due to the popularity of her video.

“Do you guys want to know what’s crazy? Yeah, I lost my job because of that original video,” she revealed in a follow-up clip posted this week.

She expressed her frustration by saying, “I used to work for the largest luxury fashion brand globally…I found it monotonous because they have an excessive focus on those women. It’s unbelievable, that’s the only type of people they collaborate with.”

Despite never naming creators explicitly, viewers speculated that Bridget was referring to fashion and lifestyle influencers Brigette and Danielle Pheloung after Brigette, who goes by @acquiredstyle, posted a since-deleted reaction video.

She, along with multiple other 20-something NYC-based content creators, responded to Bridget’s comments, which viewers say “struck a nerve.”

“Don’t let them bully you,” wrote one commenter. “Acquired style felt seen by this so you’re absolutely correct.”

“The amount of influencers that took personal offence to this, and felt the need to chime in is crazy,” someone else chimed in. “You hit a nerve. I hope you stick around, and are very successful. Your opinion is necessary.”

“I can only see so many GRWM of everyone doing their makeup they exact same, wearing the exact same workout sets, and sitting in their bare white walled beige aesthetic high rise apartment,” lamented another.

While Bridget went so far as to say “influencer culture ruined” New York, others advised showing more kindness.

“Maybe we should just stop hating on women? I’ve never seen a single video of men shaming other men like this,” wrote on person. “Let people dress, copy, paste, do whatever they want. It’s none of our business.”

“This gives bitter/jealous energy so badddd,” scolded another. “Cause why do you care?”

The Post has reached out to Bridget for comment.

Bridget said she never imagined anyone would see her original video, saying she “didn’t think anyone would give a damn.”

She said she was inspired by watching New York Fashion Week content on her “For You” page back in February.

“It kind of baffled me,” she told Vulture. “I was like, how are these girls sitting front row at shows and then doing Amazon trips? Like, do they even care about fashion? Do they even care about sustainability?”

But it seems her employer didn’t see the underlying message.

“God forbid you like speak your mind to your 90 followers at the time. You get clipped… crazy right?” Bridget said in her recent video.

“Anyway, stay boring, I guess. Because if you’re not and you speak your mind, clipped! Done!”
