The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has revealed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) successfully apprehended a criminal undocumented immigrant accused of assaulting a police officer. This individual has a history of repeatedly re-entering the United States following deportation.

Carlos Ramirez-Guzman, a national of El Salvador, was taken into custody on October 17 in Arlington, Virginia. Authorities noted that Ramirez-Guzman had previously been deported in 2006, 2014, and 2016. Despite these deportations, he managed to return to the U.S. at an undetermined time and location, managing to avoid detection by immigration officials.

In addition to his recent arrest, Ramirez-Guzman faces a felony charge for illegally re-entering the country. Over the last 20 years, he has reportedly built a substantial criminal record.

His alleged offenses span a range of serious charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer. Additionally, he has been charged with domestic battery, exhibiting a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct.

ICE officers successfully arrested Ramirez-Guzman on October 17, 2025, in Arlington, Virginia, as confirmed by the Department of Homeland Security.

“Carlos Ramirez-Guzman racked up an extensive criminal history over the last 21 years he has spent ignoring America’s laws,” DHS assistant secretary for public affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“Not only has this man been removed from our country on THREE previous occasions, but he also has a violent criminal history of assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, and resisting arrest.”

McLaughlin emphasized that Ramirez-Guzman’s long-running crime spree will finally come to an end under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

“GOOD RIDDANCE, you are not welcome in this country,” she added.
