Trump's ICE raids for criminal migrants expands into LA

The Trump administration has intensified its mass-deportation campaign in Los Angeles on a regular basis, starting with early morning arrests as part of continuous operations on the West Coast, according to sources cited by The Post.

During these roundups, immigration officials steered clear of areas in the city that have been severely affected by the ongoing destructive wildfires in Southern California, the sources mentioned.

This initiative forms part of a broader enforcement strategy targeting significant urban areas throughout the United States, as pledged by President Trump during his election campaign, with a specific emphasis on removing criminal immigrants, the sources further explained.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and other federal agencies involved in the raids are expected to rack up plenty of overtime to speed up efforts.

Details of the LA raids were scarce as of Saturday afternoon, but sources said migrants rounded up there were being held in ICE detention centers in California pending deportation.

Officials are expecting the sites to fill up quickly, and the feds are scouting for more space to hold migrants, the sources said.

ICE agents were also spotted in West New York, NJ, cuffing an unidentified Hispanic male and putting him in a van without asking questions, the Hudson Post reported

Executive orders issued by Trump dramatically loosened restrictions on how immigration officers can conduct deportation raids, removing bans for searching courthouses, churches and other “sensitive” sites that illegal migrants have historically holed up in to be shielded from federal authorities.

The White House will be using military planes every day to help carry out what Trump and “border czar” Tom Homan have vowed will be the largest deportation operation in U.S. history, ABC News reported.

ICE on Friday reported arresting 593 criminals in the U.S. illegally and lodging 449 “detainer” requests with local authorities, asking them to turn over migrants targeted for deportation.

It was unclear how many arrests were made Saturday as of 4 p.m., but the agency released new names some who were nabbed days earlier.

They include Jose Jose Roberto Rodriguez-Urbina, an alleged MS-13 gang member busted by the New York field office and wanted in El Salvador on extortion charges; and Adam Pablo-Ramirez, a Mexican national with two drunk-driving arrests who was nabbed in Chicago.

Federal immigration agents have been rounding up hundreds of other migrant criminals daily since Trump took office Monday.

Other arrests include a slew of pedophiles, drug traffickers and gang members and a suspected terrorist in New York.

Meanwhile, Chicago Public Schools said it erred Friday by claiming ICE agents entered an elementary school on the city’s Southwest Side.

The agents who went into Hamline Elementary School were actually with the U.S. Secret Service and investigating a threat against one of its “protectees in reference to the recent TikTok ban,” NBC News reported.
