CHICAGO — Chicago is gearing up for the March primary with early voting set to start this Thursday, and there’s an exciting new venue for voters to experience.
For the first time, Chicago residents will have the opportunity to cast their votes at the newly established Supersite located at State and Adams. This site takes over from the former voting location at Clark and Lake, which has now been converted into a Real ID supersite.

Voters from any ward in the city are welcome to utilize the Loop Supersite to cast their ballots.
Starting March 2, early voting will be available across more locations in Chicago, in anticipation of the Illinois Primary on March 17.
To mark the launch of early voting, the chairwoman of the Chicago Board of Elections is scheduled to deliver updates on the election process this morning.

Slightly larger than the original location at Clark & Lake, this brand new facility holds 80 voting machines, a few more than its predecessor and has more space for the public.
“When it comes to our voting machines, though, there is not any major changes,” Max Bever, director of public information at the Chicago Board of Elections, said. “We are really business as normal. We have the same touch screen machines. We have the same ballot scanners. There is no new machines that are being tested, but what you’re seeing today is testing our tried and true machines and going through all the different dozens of laws that we have to follow ahead of Election Day.”
69 W. Washington also opens as an early voting site Thursday in the Loop, while early voting in Cook County begins next Wednesday, February 18.
