Teacher's disgusting act after student suffered mishap in classroom

An elementary school teacher and principal made a six-year-old student clean up her own feces after she had an accident caused by a dairy allergy, the young girl’s fuming mom claims.

Jamisha Augustine told WFAB that her daughter has a dairy allergy, but drank milk for breakfast at Rollins Place Elementary in Louisiana and became sick almost instantaneously.

The young girl then asked her teacher several times to let her use the bathroom, but eventually stopped letting her go, Augustine said.

‘She asked here teacher to go to the restroom, but she said “no” because she went too many times,’ she explained.

But eventually the young girl ended up defecating on herself inside the classroom.

After the accident, the girl’s teacher apparently sent her to the principal’s office, where Principal Kelli Day ‘told her she was too big to be having accidents on herself,’ Augustine said.

Day then proceeded to tell the mother that her daughter had to be disciplined.

‘I said, “What was the point of making her clean that up? Do you all have janitors?”‘ she recounted.

‘She said they do have janitors, but she needed a form of discipline.’

That response apparently made Augustine even more irate, describing the situation as ‘irresponsible, hazardous, disgraceful and really pathetic.’

‘I’m saying, “How can you punish her for having an accident?”

‘I asked if she would make her daughter do that, and she said she would.’

In the aftermath, Superintendent of Zachary Community Schools Ben Necaise said he does not condone Day or the teacher’s behavior.

‘You learn from mistakes. You take ownership, accept them and try to do what’s right by the child and parent,’ he said, adding that the teacher and principal have since ‘realized that was not an appropriate step.’

‘We do have safety precautions that we have to abide by, and again, a child should never be put in that situation to have to deal with that.’

Necaise went on to tell the network that both the teacher and principal have been ‘retrained,’ and the school system called Augustine and offered her a formal apology.

He also claimed that students with food allergies are always looked after.

‘We have many students who have allergies and dietary restrictions and that’s something the cafeteria staff does really well to make sure that they follow these rules.

‘So if there’s a dietary restriction on file, they follow that closely.’

But Augustine said she filled out forms and sent the school district doctors notes informing officials about her daughter’s allergy at the beginning of the year.

It is unclear how the child got the milk.

Despite the apology, Augustine said she believes the school district’s actions speak louder than words.

‘You [should] send a janitor in with the proper equipment,’ she argued. ‘But a six year old kid, you are going to make them clean up poop without gloves.

‘It’s disgraceful and should not have gone on in our school. It should not have happened.’
