Police and firefighters responded to an arson incident at Sliders Seaside Grill, identifying a middle-aged suspect with a calf tattoo.

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — The Fernandina Beach fire and police departments responded to Sliders Seaside Grill early Friday morning after a man set part of the restaurant on fire.

Firefighters, officers and the State of Florida Fire Marshall’s Office responded to Sliders at 1998 S. Fletcher Ave. just after 1 a.m.

After extinguishing the fire, which the police department said was active when they arrived, they determined the fire was set intentionally.

While reviewing security footage from the restaurant, detectives spotted the arsonist lighting one of the umbrellas on a patio table on fire.

The wanted arsonist is described as a middle-aged man with a tattoo on the side of his calf.

Police believe the man lives in the area of First Avenue in Fernandina Beach.

If you recognize the man, you’re urged to contact the police department at 904-277-7342 or First Coast Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
