Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco recently embarked on a blissful honeymoon following their extravagant wedding in Santa Barbara last month. The couple, still basking in post-wedding euphoria, set out on a memorable road trip to commemorate their union.

Opting for the scenic allure of the California coastline, the newlyweds ventured on a journey that also led them to Gomez’s home state of Texas. This choice of a laid-back, exploratory honeymoon was reportedly ideal for the pair, giving them a chance to unwind and enjoy each other’s company away from the hustle and bustle.

According to a source close to the couple, who spoke to People, the trip was a perfect extension of their wedding celebrations. “They loved their little honeymoon,” the source shared, noting the couple’s delight in extending their festive mood by several days.

The insider further explained that Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, found the experience of slowing down and exploring to be particularly rewarding. “They really enjoyed slowing down, going on a road trip to explore and relax,” the source added. “They drove up the Cali coast and also visited Texas. It was perfect.”

She recalled feeling anxious and admitted she was ‘sobbing’ after they exchanged vows.

‘This is how I work personally, but [when] something great happens in my life, I expect something bad to happen,’ she told the audience.

‘So instead of being present and saying, “OK, wow, we’ve done a great thing,’ which I do, I’m always thinking, “OK, but this could go away tomorrow, so how can I make sure that doesn’t happen?”‘

She said she gets ‘wrapped up’ in an irrational sense of dread.

‘I would say that’s my biggest conflict sometimes when wonderful things happen,’ she said.

‘I got married and then I was sobbing because I was like, “I’m gonna die the next day.” I just think that’s a little life thing.’
