A ‘hot felon 2.0’ set the internet ablaze after he and another Wisconsin man sent cops on an armed chase for nearly 38 miles.

Malik Harrell, 23, and Stephon Mosby, 22, were arrested and charged in connection to a wild police chase that led to a tactical situation last week in Milwaukee.

But despite their crime, the internet swooned over 22-year-old Mosby’s mugshot – especially his piercing green eyes – after he was booked into Milwaukee County Jail.

At around 7pm on December 28, patrolling officers spotted a black Buick whose license plates were registered to a Chevrolet, Fox 6 News reported.

When cops attempted to pull over the vehicle, the Buick quickly sped away – prompting the start of a chase that spread across three county lines.

The driver, who was later identified as Harrell, reached speeds of more than 90mph in some residential areas before pulling into an alley way near 24th and Fairmount.

Once pulled over, Mosby, who was later identified to be the passenger, got out holding an ‘AK 47 style pistol’.

Police ordered Mosby to drop the gun, but he instead ran into a nearby home before Harrell took off again in the Buick – leading to a tactical team being called to the residence.

While some officers continued off on the high-speed chase, others stayed to surround the home.

Mosby eventually came out of the home and surrendered himself to tactical officers nearly 26 minutes after running inside.

Officers found a mask, a hoodie and the gun that Mosby flashed when he got out of the fleeing car after a search of the home.

Meanwhile the high-speed pursuit continued, even after Harrell drove the Buick into oncoming traffic – ultimately crashing into another vehicle at the intersection where 51st Street, Capitol Drive and Fond du Lac Avenue meet.

But even after colliding in the intersection – which is considered one of the largest and most dangerous heavily trafficked intersections in Milwaukee – Harrell continued to flee.

The chase that covered 37.8 miles and lasted nearly 36 minutes finally came to an end when the Buick broke down near 61st and Appleton.

Upon a search of the car, officers found marijuana, a digital scale and methamphetamines, along with the same firearm that Mosby had earlier – all of which were said to be ‘indicative of street level drug sales and distribution’.

Both men were arrested and booked on several charges on December 29.

But Milwaukee County Wisconsin Recently Booked – a Facebook page that shares information about recent arrests in the county with its 38,000 followers – left the internet lusting over Mosby after posting his recent mugshot.

Some viewers expressed how ‘cute’ he was while others called to ‘free him’ from behind bars.

‘He’s handsome, damn,’ one comment read.

Another added: ‘This lil fella was a baby in our day. Just as cute!’

Mosby’s mugshot seemingly garnered similar attention to the original ‘hot felon’ – a now-40-year-old Jeremy Meeks who was a former member of the Crips street gang.

The then-30-year-old convict was arrested back on weapon and gang charges back in 2014 after police allegedly found a pistol in his trunk during a gang sweep called Operation Ceasefire in Stockton, California.

But Meeks became an overnight sensation after local police shared the camera-friendly suspect to their Facebook page.

His mugshot pose, which showcased his chiseled jawline, sharp cheek bones and baby-blue eyes, took the internet by storm – sparking thousands of shares, ‘likes’, memes and very suggestive propositions.

The father was in and out of courtrooms in California and Washington for a decade for crimes including resisting arrest, faking his identity and grand theft, for which he served two years.

But his 2014 arrest captured the world’s attention – including White Cross Management talent agency who quickly recognized his potential and offered him a modelling contract while he was still serving his 27-months behind bars.

Meeks has since walked the runway at Milan Fashion Week and has also been featured in campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss.

Additionally, he has made his feature film debut in 2020 with Trigger on BET+ and has appeared in the 2021 independent film Secret Society.

In April of 2024, he announced that his memoir was available for preorder.

Meeks, who is now a father-of-two, now uses his widely followed platforms to speak out against crime and violence.

Mosby, the internet’s ‘hot felon 2.0’, ultimately ended up making his first court appearance on Thursday where his bond was set at $10,000.

He is facing seven charges in total – possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, possession with intent to deliver THC and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

In addition, he’s charged with failure to comply with an officer, two counts of felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer.

Harrell made his first court appearance on the same day, but his bond was set at a much heftier price of $50,000.

He is facing five charges in relation to the incident – two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, vehicle operator fleeing causing property damage, and possession with intent to deliver both THC and methamphetamine.
