A beauty influencer from New Jersey, who is also the wife of a firefighter, has been swept up in controversy for allegedly shoplifting $2,500 in goods over four separate visits to a ShopRite store.
Jeana DiCarlo, a 35-year-old resident of Middletown, is not only a mother to five children but also a notable presence on Instagram, boasting a following of over 30,000. Her social media presence is filled with insights into skincare and glimpses into her life as the wife of an FDNY firefighter.
On June 5, law enforcement arrested DiCarlo at the local Middletown ShopRite after store staff reported she had taken nearly $550 worth of groceries without paying.
The incident unfolded around 5:15 p.m., as employees scrutinized surveillance video and approached DiCarlo in the parking lot. When asked to present a receipt, she was unable to do so, prompting them to call the police.
Footage from police body cameras, which was shared by the YouTube channel Transparency Bodycam, captured the tense moment. Employees informed officers that DiCarlo, visibly upset though silent, had previous incidents of alleged theft at the same ShopRite location.
In the video, a worker said she had gone through surveillance footage records and saw DiCarlo shoplifting at least once before while with her children.
‘She has a full cart. She has the kids with her, which I didn’t think she would do anything with the kids,’ the employee said.
Later in the video, she added: ‘I have a feeling we’re going to go back [and] it’s going to be a lot.’

The ShopRite staff later reported to police that DiCarlo had allegedly previously shoplifted from the location on May 8, May 17 and May 31.
The total value of the stolen goods during those trips was $1,940.20, police said. Adding on the $548.80 from the June 5 trip brought the total value of the allegedly stolen goods to $2,489.
The body camera video shows DiCarlo getting cuffed by Middletown Police Department Officer James Courtney and being driven by patrol car to the department’s headquarters.
The mother of five was charged with third-degree shoplifting, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000 if convicted in New Jersey. DiCarlo was released pending a court appearance.
DiCarlo was previously arrested for shoplifting from a Target in Middletown in July 2023 and charged with fourth-degree shoplifting, according to court records reviewed by the Daily Mail. It appears she was not sentenced in the case.
She was also arrested for shoplifting once again just five days after the June 5 incident recorded on body camera footage, the court records show.
Her charges for both the June 5 and June 10 arrests are still pending. DiCarlo is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court on September 24.
According to her social media, which DiCarlo has made private since the arrest, she recently gave birth to her fifth child.

In the body camera footage, an officer asks her if someone was taking care of her kids and she said yes. ‘I just have my son’s Christening Sunday,’ she added.
According to public records reviewed by the Daily Mail, DiCarlo currently lives in a 1,700 sq ft house estimated to be worth at least $750,000, according to realty site estimates.
As a New York City employee, the salary of DiCarlo’s husband, John DiCarlo, is public information. Records show that he earned $190,780 in 2025.
When the arresting officer searched DiCarlo’s purse after she was arrested and placed in the patrol car, he said: ‘She had enough money to pay for groceries. Jeez, it’s a lot of cash.’
