During a recent immigration enforcement operation in the Chicago area, federal authorities apprehended a suspected criminal from Europe, with ties flagged by INTERPOL.

The arrest took place last Friday at a Lowe’s store as part of a larger operation. Kryzstof Panasiuk was detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents. He is listed in an INTERPOL “red notice,” according to official reports.

The Department of Homeland Security describes Panasiuk as a “criminal illegal alien” from Poland, sought by his native country on charges of fraud and illegal drug trafficking. Authorities noted that he entered the United States in 2001 on a B2 visa, which expired in 2011.
