Speculation is mounting that Meghan Markle might be gearing up to launch a brand in the style of the Kardashians. This buzz follows her recent appearance alongside a key figure behind Kim Kardashian’s successful Skims line.
Emma Grede, a powerhouse entrepreneur known for her role in the success of Khloe Kardashian’s Good American denim line, hosted the Duchess of Sussex as the featured guest at a Los Angeles vegan dinner event. The gathering focused on empowering women and promoting mutual support.
Grede shared a light-hearted comment, saying, “Not my typical Wednesday after work,” while providing a peek into the event where Meghan’s own ‘As Ever’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc for 2024 was prominently featured.
Instagram posts from Grede, who is currently a guest on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, capture Meghan at her side, sharing laughs and posing in powerful ensembles, suggesting a close and influential connection.
Grede emphasized the purpose of the dinner series, stating: “It’s about harnessing energy for ourselves. It’s about women uniting, openly exchanging resources, and achieving goals together.”
‘Because when women choose to collaborate, to champion each other, and to speak honestly about the highs and the hard parts, we don’t just change our own stories. We change what’s possible for every woman who follows.
‘Here’s to more seats, more voices, and more women leading, building, and owning their power’.
As the world waits to see what the Duchess of Sussex’s rumoured new business venture will be, PR experts have speculated that Ms Grede’s posts could be the biggest indication yet.
Sources close to Ms Grede have ruled out an official collaboration, but PR guru Chad Teixeira believes their blossoming friendship could be a sign that Meghan is leaning on her years of expertise.
He said: ‘Meghan Markle’s appearance at Emma Grede’s Los Angeles dinner series is far too strategic to be a coincidence.
‘The timing is significant and there’s growing speculation that Meghan is preparing to launch a fashion line, and Emma Grede, who has built billion-dollar brands like Skims and Good American, is exactly the kind of collaborator who could help her do that successfully.
‘When you look at the imagery and social media content surrounding the event, it’s clearly not just a casual dinner. The visuals are polished, professional, and designed to frame Meghan and Emma as equals within the same creative space. That kind of staging doesn’t happen by accident, it’s a soft-launch strategy we often see in PR when something bigger is on the horizon.’
Experts have also speculated that using the unrivaled expertise of a woman trusted by the Kardashians would be appealing for Meghan, who has repeatedly shown her fondness for the famous family, from sending matriarch Kris Jenner As Ever press packages to later featuring the ‘momager’ on her Instagram story.

Emma Grede has shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Duchess of Sussex at her glitzy LA dinner last week – and PR experts believe it could be a sign of more to come from the pair
Meghan’s recent private lunch with Chloe Malle, the new American Vogue editor, and her surprise attendance at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, have been widely interpreted as signs that she’s plotting a launch into the world of fashion or cosmetics.
PR expert Rebecca May added, ‘Everything Meghan does is with intention – she’s not someone who just shows up somewhere by chance. She’s known for making smart, strategic connections, and being at Emma’s dinner feels very deliberate.
‘Emma’s world is full of women who build things – brands, businesses, movements – so for Meghan to be in that mix definitely suggests she’s laying the groundwork for her next chapter.’
Taking to TikTok earlier this week, Grede shared a montage of clips from the LA evening.
The host, dressed in a midi-length mustard dress, welcomed guests to the home of designer Kelly Wearstler, where celebrity chef Camilla Marcus produced an entirely plant-based menu for attendees to enjoy.
Later in the video, the entrepreneur, who was named as one of Forbes’ Richest Self-Made Women in America in 2023, shared a clip of Meghan gazing towards her as she made a speech to her guests.
Grede also shared a number of images on Instagram immediately after the event.

While the speculation about a potential collaboration may be new, Ms Grede is known to be a long-term supporter of the Duchess.
Meghan appeared on Grede’s ‘Aspire’ podcast in June and appeared to take a series of pops at the Royal Family after she pointedly said that she wanted people to ‘tell the truth’ about her.
The Duchess of Sussex also shared advice from her friend Serena Williams about ‘lies’ in another apparent dig about her life in the public eye since she fell in love with Prince Harry.
Ms Grede asked the Duchess, ‘If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything you would do differently?’.
Meghan wore a determined look and replied: ‘Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth’.
Ms Grede said Meghan must feel ‘angry’ to have people ‘lying about [her] all the time’. Meghan said that she dealt with this by remembering advice from her friend, tennis champion Serena Williams.

Working with a Kardashian ally is likely appealing to Meghan, who has repeatedly shown her fondness of the famous family (pictured: Kris Jenner, Doria Ragland, and Kim Kardashian in LA, 2023)
‘My dear friend Serena, she told me years ago, ‘A lie can’t live forever’.’ Meghan then laughed and said pointedly, ‘Eight years is a long time, but not forever’ – a clear nod to the period when she first began dating Prince Harry.
She then described fame as having ‘peaks and valleys’ and claimed she has survived with ‘a lot of self work’ as well as de-stressing by spending time with her children, hiking and ‘date nights’ with Harry.
There was also a subtle dig at royal life where she described times in her life where she ‘wasn’t as empowered with my voice’, but said of her return to Instagram, which she left when she became a royal, ‘It was a great way to get my voice back.’
Meghan’s appearance at the LA dinner – around an hour from her Montecito mansion – came in a fortnight of public engagements.
Her attendance at the events has led experts to predict another new venture is on the cards, potentially in couture or cosmetics.
On Tuesday last week, Meghan lectured on life as a ‘high-profile business founder’ as one of the stars of Fortune’s ‘Most Powerful Women’ summit in the US capital.
Her Washington address marked yet another public appearance after New York dinners with Williams, another with a powerhouse talent agent, a night out with Ed Sheeran, and a charity gala where she was crowned ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ with Harry.
Experts predict the flurry of east coast engagements – at least six in as many days, including some without her husband – is part of a wider ‘Meghan 3.0’ relaunch attempt.
In an Instagram reel released before the DC event, Meghan filmed herself applying what appeared to be unbranded make up. It immediately led to speculation online that they could be samples for her own range – or a new collaboration with a beauty brand.
The headliner at the Fortune event conference in Washington was Selena Gomez, who became a billionaire largely due to her Rare Beauty make up business.
Meghan also popped up at Paris Fashion Week ten days ago, ramping up claims she may move into clothing. One source predicted: ‘Fashion is where she will aim her focus now’.
Another industry expert said privately that her Paris visit had been viewed as a huge coup for Meghan, even if she had to ask Balenciaga for an invite.
‘Paris was a ‘moment’ for her. It’s the first positive PR she’s had in years,’ they added.
