Thousands of users have reported issues with the social media platform.
WASHINGTON — X, formerly known as Twitter, was down for thousands of users in the U.S. on Saturday morning.
As of 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, more than 25,000 users reported issues with the social media platform on the outage tracking site DownDetector. The cause of the outage is unknown.
By 9:57 a.m. ET, X was working normally for some users.
Earlier this week, X users experienced performance issues on the platform.
On Friday night, X said it was still experiencing issues from the May 22 outage.
“We’re still experiencing issues from yesterday’s data center outage. Login and signup services are unavailable for some users, and there may be delays in notifications and Premium features. Our team is working 24/7 to resolve this. Thanks for your patience—updates soon,” the engineering team said on X.
