Ivanka Trump has taken a seat on an elite nonprofit board, joining forces with two renowned singers who have previously criticized her father, former President Donald Trump.

The 43-year-old was appointed to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund Advisory Board on Monday. This ambitious $100 million initiative is partly financed by proceeds from the 2026 World Cup ticket sales.

Ivanka enthusiastically announced her new role on her Instagram story Tuesday morning, highlighting fellow board members such as The Weeknd and Shakira—both of whom have been vocal critics of her father’s policies.

Back in 2016, The Weeknd declined an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night program upon learning that he would have to share the stage with Trump.

At the time, Belly, a co-writer with The Weeknd and a Muslim, explained their decision to skip the show, saying, “I was raised to look beyond all titles in this world, from religion to race,” reflecting their stand against sharing a platform with the then-president.

‘I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that [the] majority of us don’t agree with.’

Meanwhile, Shakira recently spoke out against the commander-in-chief over his immigration policies.

The Colombian-born songstress told BBC News that being an immigrant in the US ‘means living in constant fear’ because of Trump’s administration.

‘I was only 19 when I moved to the U.S., like many other Colombian immigrants who come to this country looking for a better future,’ the Hips Don’t Lie singer said in June.

The hitmaker, 48, moved from her native Colombia to Miami, Florida as a teenager to further her music career.

She said she learned English by studying poetry written by Walt Whitman and songs penned by Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in order to ‘understand how the English language works within songwriting.’

She addressed the immigration crackdown on alleged violations and said that immigrants in the United States today live in fear and ‘it’s painful to see.’

With part of her statement in Spanish as she addresses her Latin American fans, Shakira encouraged them to stay strong.

‘Now, more than ever, we have to remain united,’ she said.

‘Now, more than ever, we have to raise our voices and make it very clear that a country can change its immigration policies, but the treatment of all people must always be humane.’

Earlier this year, Shakira won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

And during her speech, she dedicated the award to ‘all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country.’

She added: ‘You are loved, you are worth it, and I will always fight with you.’

Along with The Weeknd, Shakira and Ivanka, other stars, including Hugh Jackman, have joined the board.

Professional athletes Serena Williams and former Brazilian soccer player Kaka are also a part of it, along with Jim Damare, the Co-President of Bank of America and Gianni Infantino, the president of Fédération Internationale de Football Association.

The group will use their own personal experience to help guide and ensure the fund ‘achieves maximum impact’ ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup next summer.

The goal is to raise $100 million to go toward education efforts. Global Citizen aims to help 100,000 children across more than 200 countries across the world.

The first round of grantees will be announced at the start of the new year.

The FIFA World Cup final is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In March it was announced that Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin will curate the sport event’s first Super Bowl-style halftime performance.

‘This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,’ Infantino previously said of the highly anticipated event.
